Prayer To Respond to Babbling and Cooing as Communication

Prayer
Gracious God,
Teach caregivers to listen with intention and respond with love. Help them to recognize their child’s early sounds as meaningful communication. Give them patience and joy as they nurture these first expressions, building confidence and connection in their child.
Amen.

Even the smallest voices hold meaning and purpose. When caregivers respond, they affirm the child’s voice and teach them that they are heard, valued, and understood.

Practice / Task
When your infant babbles or coos, pause and respond as if you are having a conversation. Smile, imitate sounds, and speak back to them.
Remind yourself: “Every sound my child makes is an opportunity to connect.”
