Prayer to Follow the Infant’s Lead During Play

Prayer
Heavenly Father,

Give us the patience to slow down and pay attention to what our infants are communicating. Help us recognize their interests and follow their lead instead of imposing our own agenda. Teach us to value the unique personality You have placed within each child.

Listening is an act of love. Even before infants can use words, they communicate through their actions, attention, and expressions. Following an infant’s lead during play shows respect for their interests and supports healthy emotional and cognitive development.

Practice / Task

During playtime today, allow your infant to choose what captures their attention. Observe what they look at, reach for, or respond to. Follow their interests rather than directing the activity yourself.
