Prayer to Engage in Face-to-Face Play
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of connection. Help us be fully present with the children You have entrusted to our care. Teach us to slow down, make eye contact, and delight in their presence. May our interactions communicate love, security, and joy.
Amen.
Scripture Reflection (KJV)
“The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee.” — Numbers 6:25
Throughout Scripture, God's face represents His presence, attention, and favor. When caregivers engage face-to-face with infants, they communicate the same message: “You matter. I see you. I delight in you.” These simple interactions support emotional bonding, language development, and social connection.
Practice / Task
Spend at least ten uninterrupted minutes today engaging in face-to-face play. Smile, mimic your infant’s expressions, and talk gently to them. Focus entirely on the interaction without distractions from phones, television, or other tasks.
